Microsoft’s invitation names a Microsoft Windows event in San Francisco on October 7. The company calls it a conversation on how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC, after it already put NVIDIA RTX Spark at the center of that hardware chapter.
The invitation lists Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Windows + Devices executive vice president Pavan Davuluri share the bill. Microsoft says the trio will share the latest innovations across Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface, and the broader PC ecosystem.
Who Microsoft is putting on stage
That lineup is the story. Davuluri already framed RTX Spark as the next Windows hardware chapter in May. As a result, Huang’s presence points at the same silicon instead of a vague AI keynote.
Jeff Fisher, NVIDIA’s senior vice president of personal computing, put the partnership in one line: “NVIDIA and Microsoft share a vision that agents are the future of personal computing.” The October date is when Microsoft can finally attach shipping plans to that line.
The hardware Microsoft already announced
Microsoft already introduced Surface Laptop Ultra as the most powerful Surface Laptop it has built. The machine pairs NVIDIA Blackwell RTX graphics with up to 128GB of unified memory. Microsoft says that mix delivers 1 petaflop of AI compute and can run models with up to 120 billion parameters locally.
The 15-inch mini-LED PixelSense Ultra touchscreen reaches 2,000 nits of peak HDR brightness at 262 pixels per inch. HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, a headphone jack, and a full-size SD reader sit on the chassis. Microsoft lists Platinum and Nightfall finishes. Brett Ostrum’s Devices post still dates availability only as later this year. Microsoft has not posted a price.
Davuluri’s May post says RTX Spark also lands in laptops and compact desktops from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and MSI beginning this Fall. Those PCs join the Copilot+ PC category. Tech My Money already covered Acer’s compact RTX Spark desktops and Microsoft’s Snapdragon X2 Surface refresh, so October 7 is the date those threads can meet.
What the invitation still leaves open
However, Microsoft has not posted a public newsroom event page. It has not priced Surface Laptop Ultra. It has not named a ship week. In addition, the invitation does not mention Windows 12.
Meanwhile, Windows 11 quality work continues on a separate track. Microsoft already started rolling more control into everyday Windows, including shared audio to two headphones. October 7 can add RTX Spark shipping news, Surface prices, or both. Until then, treat those as expectations, not facts Microsoft has published.
